This page is for anyone choosing a home sauna. It covers portable steam tents, infrared cabins and traditional cabins with stove heaters, grouped by size. Check space, electrical, ventilation and current price before buying.
Our size labels go by capacity, footprint and heater class. They are not a quality ranking.

Infrared cabins:Barcelona, Andora and Bergamo. Heating panels in a wood cabin, all listed at 120V. Golden Designs says its infrared saunas are for indoor use only.
Space. Compare the listed outside size and height with your room, and leave the clearances the manual gives. The Room-Size Checker does the math.
Power. Check the listing and the manual for power requirements; consult a licensed electrician. A 120V label does not always mean a normal wall socket. Some 120V units need their own circuit.
Type of heat. Infrared panels give dry warmth. A traditional heater warms the air, and water on the stones adds steam.
Assembly. Cabins come as panels you put together. Check the listing for assembly details.
Warranty and placement. Read the warranty terms. Golden Designs' manuals say placing its infrared saunas outdoors voids the warranty.
Start with your space and your power. A portable tent fits a corner. A 1–2 person infrared cabin needs a small floor area, and the ones we picked are listed at 120V. A traditional cabin with a stove heater needs more power planning. The Sauna Finder can help you narrow it down.
Is a home sauna worth it?
That depends on your space, your power setup, what it costs to buy and run, and how often you will use it. Think about where it will go, whether you need an electrician, and the running cost from the heater's listed kW.
What size home sauna do I need?
Count the people who will use it at the same time, then compare each unit's listed outside size and height with your room. Leave the clearances the manual gives.
What's the difference between compact, mid-size and premium saunas?
On this site they are size labels. Compact / entry means portable tents. Mid-size means 1–2 person infrared cabins. Premium / full-size means larger infrared cabins and traditional cabins with stove heaters. They are not a quality ranking.
