Cookie Policy
In short: your consent choice is stored in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. Google Analytics 4 and the Meta pixel set cookies only after you click Accept. An affiliate cookie is set by the retailer after you click a "Check price" button.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website or service puts in your browser. They help count visits and show where a visit came from.
Cookies we use
| Cookie | What it does | Who sets it | When |
|---|---|---|---|
Google Analytics 4 (_ga*, property G-PJ7ERBCP0J) | Counts visits and shows which pages are read | Only after Accept | |
Meta pixel (_fbp, ID 4875475045903364) | Tells Meta when a page is viewed, to measure visits and ad results | Meta | Only after Accept |
| Affiliate cookie | Tracks a click from this site and any qualifying purchase | The retailer's own site (see below) | After you click a "Check price" button |
Cloudflare Web Analytics, which our host Cloudflare adds to every page, is not in the table because Cloudflare says it uses no cookies or local storage. It loads without waiting for your choice in the cookie notice. See the Privacy Policy for what it measures.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. The affiliate cookie is set on Amazon's site after you click a "Check price on Amazon" button.
Third parties (including us and other advertisers) may serve content and advertisements, collect information directly from visitors, and place or recognize cookies on visitors' browsers.
Where your consent choice is stored
Your choice is not a cookie. This site stores it in your browser's local storage under the key rs-consent, as granted (Accept) or denied (Decline). It stays in your browser and is not sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data removes it, and the banner will ask again.
How consent works
On your first visit, a banner offers Accept and Decline. If you click Accept, Google Analytics 4 and the Meta pixel load. If you click Decline, they don't load. Nothing from googletagmanager, google-analytics or facebook loads before you click Accept.
Changing your choice
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer at any time.
Managing cookies in your browser
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
- Google Analytics opt-out add-on
- Facebook ad settings
Read the Privacy Policy for more.
